“We blazen het af”
Schrik niet! Uiteraard hebben we het niet over de reis.. maar over de operatie.
Allereerst bedankt voor jullie lieve berichtjes, belletjes en kaartjes, altijd erg fijn om te merken dat er van alle kanten met je meegeleefd wordt! Eenmaal terug in Nederland is alles snel gegaan. Woensdag aankomst in Nederland, donderdag naar de huisarts, meteen door naar ziekenhuis voor een echoscopie, nog een keer een bloedtest voor tumorindicatoren (voor de zekerheid) en een afspraak met de gynaecoloog voor de volgende dag. Zij gaf aan dat de normale procedure is om af te wachten (kom over 3 maanden maar terug) maar begreep de situatie en zou het overleggen met haar collega’s. Diezelfde avond werden we gebeld dat ik maandag de 19e geopereerd zou worden.
De maandag erop nog even een goed gesprek gehad over hoe alles zou lopen en zodat ik begreep dat dit niet de normale gang van zaken was. Dinsdag alvast een nieuw visum voor Thailand aangevraagd en woensdag naar de anesthesist en bloedprikken.
Vandaag zou ik dus geopereerd worden. Maar toen bleek dat mijn lichaam en dan met name natuurlijk mijn eierstok fantastisch werk geleverd hebben. Na meermalen een echo was duidelijk dat deze haar gebruikelijke afmetingen weer heeft aangenomen en alle bloedresten en ander vocht keurig heeft opgeruimd. De operatie is afgeblazen! Dus geen littekens, gesnij, spierpijn van gassen waarmee je buik wordt opgeblazen, narcose en kans op infecties! En al helemaal geen 3 weken herstellen. Dat mijn lichaam het nu zelf heeft opgeruimd sluit een aantal oorzaken uit en daarom kunnen we er vanuit gaan dat de bloeding tijdens een eisprong ontstaan is. Vrijdag vliegen we weer naar Bangkok en dan pakken we toch nog even dat lichtjesfeest mee! Voor iedereen die dat niet kent hier even een beschrijving.
Loi Krathong. Als de maan opkomt, verzamelt iedereen zich bij de rivier, waar lampionnen van bladeren in het water worden gelegd. De wegdrijvende lichtjes nemen het ongeluk met zich mee. Vervolgens wordt er een verhaal over één van de vorige levens van de Boeddha verteld over prins Vessantara, die beroemd was om zijn medeleven en vrijgevigheid. Een ‘Krathong’ is een bootje, meestal in de vorm van een lotusbloem, gemaakt van bananenbladeren en simpele materialen,met daarop een kaars, wierookstokjes en wat Thais muntgeld. Verder zijn de ‘Krathongs’ vaak versierd met bloemen en figuren uitgesneden in fruit en groente.
We hebben niet stilgezeten in de tussentijd en de route die we in Thailand willen volgen al helemaal uitgestippelt. Binnenkort kun je weer wat nieuwsflitsen verwachten.
